My name is Christian Gosvig Olesen. I am a PhD candidate and teaching assistant at the University of Amsterdam affiliated with the Amsterdam School For Heritage and Memory Studies where I work within the research priority area Cultural Heritage and Identity.
My research project provisionally titled Film History in the Making: Digital Archives and Film Historiography investigates the implications which digitization in film archives bears upon film historical research in primarily academic settings. It draws on perspectives from film archiving history, digital heritage studies and theory of history. You can read more about it under “Research”.
Beyond my specific research activities I am interested in documentary and experimental cinema, sound theory and auditory culture and am an avid field recordist and listener of radio and acousmatic music in my spare time.
